Neděliště: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Neděliště has a history dating back to the mid-12th century. Its present appearance reveals Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque construction phases. The single-nave building is surrounded by a perimeter wall with two gates and has been a protected historic monument since 1958. The family crypt of the estate’s owners is located in the crypt.

Culture

In the village square of Neděliště stands a Baroque sandstone cross depicting the Crucified Christ; the cross and its pedestal were made in 1726. Also located there is a Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, erected in 1729. On the edge of the village, by the district road from Světí, stands a stone wayside shrine with a square base, a round shaft, a superstructure and a small chapel. It was erected in memory of Matěj Buzek, who died of the plague in 1712.

History

The cemetery by the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary contains three war graves from the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, associated with the Battle of Hradec Králové on 3 July. The three war graves were renovated in 2023. Near Neděliště there is also a sandstone monument to the Austrian Artillery Regiment No. 6. It was erected and ceremonially consecrated on 24 August 1867 directly at the site of the fighting and also serves as the final resting place of the soldiers buried beneath it.

The castle in Neděliště is a two-storey building with a mansard floor above and a double roof. It has a stone Baroque portal leading into the entrance hall. A park was created in the castle courtyard after the well was removed.

Leisure

The public multi-purpose sports ground in Neděliště is intended for ball games for all age groups, particularly small-sided football, handball, volleyball, nohejbal and tennis. The sports ground has an online reservation system that displays availability and allows reservations to be made.

The official 1866 battlefield cycling circuit is 33 km long and takes approximately six hours. It passes through Neděliště, Sendražice and Lochenice towards the Elbe riverbank embankment in Hradec Králové.
