Sedliště: Hotels and Accommodation

Sedliště is historically connected with the Starohradské estate. In the immediate surroundings, traces of the Bronze Age, castle and chateau history, mills, and paths through the countryside converge.

History and Culture

Sedliště belonged to the Starohradské estate. Its center was the Stará fortress, located one kilometer away, which was converted into a Gothic castle during the reign of Charles IV and into a Renaissance chateau around 1573.

About 200 m to the north, in the direction of the municipality of Hřmenín, lies the preserved Sedliště/Hřmenín hillfort of the Urnfield culture from the Late or Final Bronze Age.

The history of milling is also present locally: Sedlišťský dolní mlýn is a mill with a sawmill, allegedly dating from the 16th century, rebuilt in 1933, with some of its equipment preserved. Janďourkův mlýn lies on the Libáňský potok stream near Sedliště and can be visited by prior arrangement.

The originals can be seen in the exhibition at Staré Hrady Chateau.

Nature and Landscape

Střelečská hůra Hill and Přivýšina Hill are located in the surroundings of Sedliště. In the wider regional area are Valdštejn Church, Tábor Hill, and U Borku Hill [Záhornice u Městce Králové].

Obora u Sedliště lies between Sedliště, Staré Hrady, and Libáň. The valley of the Bukovina stream lies between Zelenecká Lhota and Sedliště.

Hiking Trail

Sedliště can be reached via the red-marked hiking trail from Libáň and Staré Hrady in the direction of Nadslav.
