Kostelecké Horky: Hotels and Accommodation

A historical trace in Kostelecké Horky is the Těšnov fortification, also known as the “zpropadený zámek”. It lies about 2 kilometres northwest of Kostelecké Horky, next to a path that runs through the forest between the two ponds, Malý Pobočník and Velký Pobočník. The earthworks of Těšnov have a raised circular inner area, a lower diameter of 44 metres and a 14-metre-wide moat. The remains of the fortification have always been part of the territory of Kostelecké Horky and are older than the present-day municipality.

The bell of the horecké zvoničky also tells the story of the village: it was hidden in a field in 1917 to prevent its confiscation for military purposes, and was rung again on 2 November 1918.

A centre for environmental education was established in the Dům z modrého kamene in Kostelecké Horky.

The stone stable of the Modrý dům serves as a presentation space for thematic exhibitions and various events. At the Modrý dům, visitors can get a close look at goats, chickens, sheep and guinea pigs; workshops on traditional craft techniques are also offered.

Next to the Modrý dům stands a timber-clad, cellared barn dating from the late 18th century. Its ground floor and first floor are dedicated to an exhibition on rural household management, tools, equipment and everyday items.

Strýc Mountain is located in the surroundings of Kostelecké Horky. Řetová Mountain is located in the wider regional area. The nearby surroundings also include Kamenitý kopec Hill [Kostelecké Horky] and Podlán Hill [Skořenice].
