Pěčín is first revealed through its valley: most of the houses lie in the valley of the Pěčínský potok; on the valley slopes, development becomes more loosely arranged in isolated locations. From the road near house no. 15, there is a panorama of the stream’s and the Zdobnice’s deep, wooded valley.
Culture and History
The Church of the Nativity of St John the Baptist was built in 1727–1729 as a single-nave structure with a tower on the west façade by the builder Jan Kumper, who came from Hradec Králové. It is an oriented, single-nave, plastered masonry building with a rectangular nave, a presbytery closed on three sides, and a four-storey square tower in front of the west façade.
The ruins of Pěčín Castle are classified as an important archaeological site. In the wider regional surroundings of Pěčín is Gorzanów - Pałac, a castle.
