Božičany was founded before 1359 as a Waldhufendorf settlement along a stream. A testimony to more recent history is the monument to the victims of the First World War. It stands in the village square in the center of Božičany on the left bank of the Černý potok and was erected in 1933 based on a design by Willy Heinz.

Individual buildings also shape the villagescape. Villa No. 66 is an architecturally interesting building from the 19th or 20th century and displays Art Nouveau features. In Božičany, courtyard No. 10 is also home to a building highlighted as being of particular interest.

The 11-kilometer Vintířov–Chodov–N. Role cycle route runs through the northern part of the Božičany cadastral area. The approximately 16.5-kilometer “Klidný okruh podhůřím” cycling circuit between Nová Role, Božičany, and Chodov runs mainly along quiet roads and cycle paths.

To the left of the road to Nová Role, the small depression of the Sírius mine is still visible. Osmóza Park is a natural oasis by a pond on the site of a former kaolin mine and offers a shady place by the water to stop and rest.

Every year in May, MO ČRS Božičany organizes fishing competitions at the local ponds.
