Graslitz: Hotels and Accommodation
A particularly tangible historic site in Kraslice is located on Zámecký vrch: the hillfort preserves the remains of a 13th-century castle. These include remnants of walls, a round bastion, a moat and a three-metre-deep cavity carved into the rock.
Geographical Location
Kraslice lies in the western Ore Mountains. The Svatava flows through the town.
The mountain Komářà vrch lies in the vicinity of Kraslice. The surrounding area also includes the mountains Čertova hora, Gemeinberg and Hinterer Kegelberg.
History
The history of Kraslice began in the 13th century, when the Neuhaus watch castle was founded on an important trade route from Loket to Germany. In 1541, Kraslice was granted the prestigious status of a free mining town. At that time, Kraslice flourished primarily through the mining of copper, lead and tin.
Since 1896, the centre has been home to the neo-Romanesque DÄ›kanský kostel BožÃho tÄ›la church, built on the site of an older medieval church. Another historic complex is the former municipal slaughterhouse, with its unique architecture and technical equipment.
Routes
There are four marked hiking trails in the Kraslice area, in blue, red, yellow and green. The blue-marked trail begins at the signpost in Kraslice and leads via Tisovské rozcestà to Olověný vrch. The red-marked hiking trail leads via Kraslice to Rájecké údolà and the former municipality of Rolava.
For cyclists, Route 2178 leads from Sokolov to Kraslice and continues to the border at Klingenthal. In winter, winter sports enthusiasts can use ski routes on the ridges running along the Czech-German border, as well as several downhill runs with lifts.
Culture
The Museum of the Kraslice Railway in Kraslice is a tourist attraction and is open only on Saturdays during the season. In the wider regional surroundings of Kraslice are the church in Bad Brambach, St. Michaelis, Schlackenwerth Monastery and Albernau Church, the parish church of St. Johannis.
