Nový Kostel is located in Přírodní park Leopoldovy Hamry. The park was established in 1986 to preserve the landscape character and intact nature of a sparsely populated area of the Krušné hory. There is also a mineral spring on the road from Nový Kostel towards Mlýnek.

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross stands in Nový Kostel. It was originally built in 1613 and expanded into its present form in 1776. It had already been reconstructed by 2018; various cultural events are occasionally held there. The Nový Dvůr estate complex in Spálená includes a Rococo palace built around 1792.

The Cestou smírčích křížů cycling route is approximately 50 kilometers long and runs along the border of Přírodní park Leopoldovy Hamry. It leads to Kopanina, where the late Baroque Church of St George is located. The church is a Rococo building dating from 1770 and stands on the site of an older Gothic church that was built as early as the first half of the 13th century. Its features include ceiling paintings by J. G. Fracka and predominantly Rococo furnishings.

Cycling route 2132, approximately 25 kilometers long, runs from the Wernitzgrün-Luby border crossing via Luby, Nový Kostel, and Milhostov to Nebanice. In Nový Kostel, Moravia Z-L Ranch offers riding lessons.

The Nový Kostel railway stop in Spálená is located on regional railway line 146 between Tršnice and Luby u Chebu. The stop is integrated into the integrated transport system; tickets for passenger services are sold on the train.
