Hořečková louka na Pile is a 1.5932-hectare nature monument. It protects species-rich meadows and pastures with endangered plant communities and specially protected plant species. Around Pila, low hills limit direct views of the surrounding municipalities; the extensive forests offer numerous paths for tourist activities and hikes.

The Pilská hospoda provides cyclists with a charging station for electric bicycles. The Pilská hospoda also offers services year-round for day-trippers, regular guests, and organized groups.

The early documented history of Pila includes a mill on the Lomnický potok and a sawmill established there, which probably gave the later settlement its name. From the 1880s onward, intensive mining activity developed in Pila, extracting lignite and, above all, wax coal. A wax factory and a briquette factory were associated with the mining; this activity ended in 1968 after suitable reserves had been exhausted.

The Masopust processions are considered a well-known local tradition in Pila. Bečov nad Teplou is mentioned by the municipality of Pila as a nearby place of historical and natural interest. In 1807, the musician Jan Schmidt began playing for spa guests in Karlovy Vary with six other musicians, thus marking the beginning of the so-called colonnade concerts.
