Gängerhof: Hotels and Accommodation

In the centre of Chodov stands the Baroque Chapel of St. Anne, dedicated to Saint Anne. It is built into a slope on the left side of the road to Bečov nad Teplou. Every year in July, the traditional Svatoannenská pilgrimage takes place in the square in front of the chapel.

Northwest of Chodov, in the forests, lies Vitriolka, a former sheep shed from the 18th century. Since the 1980s, a forester’s lodge has stood on its grounds, still serving this purpose today. At the beginning of the 19th century, Anton Liewald from Pernink also established a production facility here for sulphuric acid, which was also called vitriol.

The entire municipal area of Chodov lies within the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. The terrain around Chodov is highly varied. At its centre stands the approximately 200-year-old memorial beech tree “Chodovský buk”. It is about 18 metres tall and has a trunk circumference of 420 centimetres.

Near Chodov lies the Homolka natural monument, a basalt hill and evidence of Tertiary volcanic activity. The massive basalt rock displays columnar jointing and contains inclusions of the green mineral olivine. At the summit is a small platform measuring approximately 8 × 3 metres. The summit rises about 12 metres above the surrounding terrain and offers good views.

The Chodov site, which is of European importance, is small but unusually rich in species and diverse. Frogs, snakes and butterflies can be observed there.

The signposted cycle route 2026 runs from Karlovy Vary via Hlinky to Chodov u Bečova. On 25 April 2025, an approximately 2-kilometre excursion into the Chodov site of European importance took place from 3 to 6 p.m.; it was suitable for all age groups.
