Kleinskal: Hotels and Accommodation

The Hall of the Three Emperors has been preserved in the grounds of Vranov-Pantheon Castle. It commemorates the victory of the allied troops over Napoleon in the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig in 1813.

Culture and History

The Boučkův statek farmstead in Vranové is an example of the timbered folk architecture of the Pojizerí region dating from 1813. The Boučkův statek farmstead also houses a restaurant, as well as exhibitions by a museum and a gallery.

The Chapel of St Lawrence contains an altar by Vladimír Komárek, a Stations of the Cross by Josef Jíra, and a glass nativity scene by M. Baudysová. Lesní hřbitov is a Neoclassical aristocratic cemetery established in 1813 by the then landowner František Zachariáš Römisch. Valdštejn Church is located in the vicinity of Malá Skála.

Landscape and Nature

The mountains of Maršovicky vrch, Černá Studnice, and Pustina are located in the vicinity of Malá Skála. The mountain of Mariánská hora lies in the wider regional surroundings of Malá Skála.

The Suché skály rock formations are protected as a national nature monument. They comprise around 20 rock towers, including Hlavní and Sokolí; climbing there is suitable both for experienced climbers and complete beginners.

The Zahrádka viewpoint rises 60 m above the river.

Paths and Transport

Vranov can be reached on foot from Malá Skála via a 1.5 km-long red hiking trail; cars must be left in Malá Skála. Tourist bus route 342 connects Turnov, Malá Skála, and Jablonec nad Nisou, offers connections to the railway, and permits bicycles on selected seasonal services.

Water Activity

The paddling trip on the Jizera from Malá Skála to Dolánky covers 9 kilometres and takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.
