Skuchrow: Hotels and Accommodation

Skuchrow extends into the Maloskalsko Nature Park with its southern municipal area. A small peripheral section of the Český ráj UNESCO Geopark also extends into the municipality of Skuhrov.

Culture and History

The Špýchar granary is located in the upper part of Skuhrov. Today, only a corner section of the enclosing walls of Skuhrov’s granary remains visible. It was built in 1832 as a grain store intended to prevent shortages.

In the lower part of Huntířov, the Chapel of Saint Adalbert stands below the fire pond. Its construction was a prerequisite for the village’s first pilgrimage.

The first glass pressing workshop was established in Huntířov in 1865, and the Tyl theatre association was founded in 1889.

Landscape and Views

Several places on the northern side of Skuhrov offer panoramic views of the Krkonoše Mountains, part of the Jizera Mountains, Ještěd and Kozákov. A well-maintained viewpoint above Skuhrov offers views of Kozákov, Maloskalsko, Sokol and the Kopanina ridge.

The viewpoint near the cross in the direction of Skuhrov is equipped with a covered seating area, an information board about the municipality, descriptive panels about the viewpoint and play elements for children.

Trails, Winter and Transport

Skuhrov’s groomed cross-country ski trail network forms a circuit through the municipality and branches off via Hamrštice in Pěnčín in three directions: to Kopanina, to Dupanda in Alšovice and to Černá Studnice.

The circular route with viewing benches runs via Jerdovka above Huntířov, along Alšovská Road below the cemetery in Skuhrov, over Nácův Hill below the water tower in Skuhrov and through Skřib in Huntířov.

The municipal transport information lists bus route 530842 between Jablonec nad Nisou, Skuhrov, Huntířov and Železný Brod.
