Smržovka is located in the recreational area of the Jizera Mountains and is a center of summer and winter tourism. With nature experiences, winter sports and regional history, the town offers a diverse range of attractions.
Nature
The Městský lesopark Smržovka is a popular place for walks and individual leisure activities. The park is home to rare trees and shrubs from several regions of the world; their exact origins can no longer be determined today. The Kolem Smržovky hiking route begins at Smržovka railway station, leads to the Černá Studnice lookout point and returns to Smržovka via the toboggan run. In addition, the DiscGolfPark Smržovka features a nine-hole course.
Winter sports
The cross-country skiing area in Smržovka is approximately three kilometers long and is groomed for skating and two classic tracks. The cross-country trails comprise three kilometers of machine-groomed trails with connections to additional routes. The Filip ski area has a 500-meter-long downhill run with a vertical drop of 100 meters. The PÅ™Ãrodnà sáňkaÅ™ská dráha Smržovka is an almost four-kilometer-long natural toboggan run along groomed forest paths from the ÄŒerná studnice lookout point to the Filip ski lift in Smržovka.
Culture
The Muzeum mÃstnà historie a výstavnà sÃň Smržovka is located in the rooms of the Smržovka château. The Muzeum panenek Smržovka features an exhibition of 200 German, Russian, Spanish and Czech dolls, as well as other toys.
The Muzeum obrněné techniky Smržovka currently comprises around 30 exhibits. On its approximately 1.5-hectare grounds, driving demonstrations and reconstructions of combat operations take place. Smržovka has also preserved the traditional production of costume jewelry and glassware to this day.
History
The Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Smržovka is a late Baroque landmark of the wider area and is considered an important architectural monument in the Jablonec region. It is open for individual visits during major events held by the town.
