Waterscape and Nature
The Holanské rybníky near Holany comprise 23 medieval ponds and are used for recreation. The southern edge of the Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area borders Holany.
Milčanský rybník covers 29 hectares and is used for recreation; a small campsite is located on its shore. The island in Milčanský rybník is a protected breeding site for waterfowl.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Holany is a protected cultural monument. The log houses in Holany date from the 18th and 19th centuries. Several notable wooden vernacular buildings have been preserved in Holany, including houses No. 3, 33, and 77.
Vítkovec was built as a late Gothic castle in 1455. At Vítkovec, a seven-metre-high section of corner masonry, remains of the palace walls, and ramparts have been preserved. Sádky is an important technical monument with four rectangular ponds from the 16th century.

Cycling routes 3086 and 211 lead from Holany to Milčanský rybník. A blue-marked hiking trail from Holany to Dubá is 22 km long; a green-marked hiking trail from Holany to Česká Lípa is 9 km long.
