Mimoň: Hotels and accommodations

Mimoň showcases its history at specific sites: the Municipal Museum is housed in a reconstructed historic building that originally served as a hospital. The museum features a permanent exhibition on the history and nature of Mimoň and its surroundings; it also preserves a mortuary chamber in its original condition. The grounds of the Municipal Museum are home to a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

Culture

In the centre of Mimoň lies the Castle Park, which is a protected heritage site. The Catholic Church of Saints Peter and Paul has an observation tower. Popular traditional events include Christmas and Easter climbs up the tower of this church.

The Mimoň Retro Museum showcases old prams and historical children's items such as dolls, swaddling cloths, rattles, toys, baby clothes and cradles. It also preserves memories of former companies from Mimoň, including TON, Severka, Rukavičářské závody and OPMP.

Kamenický vrch is a mountain in the vicinity of Mimoň. Malá Buková, Velká Buková and Špičák are mountains in the surrounding area of Mimoň. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity, a church, is also located nearby. Starý Berštejn, a ruin, lies in the wider regional surroundings of Mimoň.

Experiences

The CV16 Mimoň–Zákupy–Mimoň cycling route is offered in variants of 39, 29 and 20 kilometres. On the paddling route on the Ploučnice, a regulated riverbed with several steps begins shortly before Mimoň.

The Trail in the Footsteps of the Middle Ages leads from the information board of the Municipal Museum along the Ploučnice to the Mimoň Leisure Centre. The experiential trail is approximately three kilometres long and has 13 stops.
