Žandov: Hotels and Accommodation
Žandov lies in the Ploučnice valley. The stone town fountain bears the town emblem and the year 1853. It replaced an earlier wooden fountain that year and was restored in 1997; the fountain is also a national cultural monument.
Culture and History
A sandstone column with a statue of Saint Sebastian is approximately six metres high, excluding the statue temporarily kept in the church. The column bears a German inscription in capital letters dated 1717. The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Žandov is registered as an immovable cultural monument under registration number 18625 / 5-3460.
The main corridor of the Koruna building was once a passage to the courtyard, where horses were changed. After 1918, the inn in the Koruna building was renamed from „U císaře rakouského“ to „U Koruny“.
Routes and Nature
Stage II of the Výroční stezka Češka – Slunečná – Žandov is a 14-kilometre hiking route of moderate difficulty. It reaches Žandov via a blue-marked hiking trail through Radeč and along Dvorský kopec. After 1.5 kilometres from Volfartice, the stage joins the paved cycle route No. 15 „Ploučnice, Varhany“.
The Žandov area includes Zones I to IV of the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. In the immediate vicinity of Žandov lies the marked educational trail Okolím Karlovských rybníků za poznáním. The easy circular route is two kilometres long, has seven stations, and has an estimated viewing time of approximately one hour. Its information panels describe the history of the area as well as the lives of local aquatic and forest animals and plants.
The mountains Kozel, Dobrná, Ronov and Špičák lie in the surroundings of Žandov.

The Žandovská desítka is an annual running event held and recurring every November; editions from 2014 to 2026 are listed for Žandov. The 2025 edition started at the Žandov swimming pool and followed a loop through the forest around the Karlovské rybníky.
