Sloup V Čechách: Hotels and Accommodation

Sloup Castle is located in Sloup V Čechách. It is a rock fortress from the 13th century and stands on a sandstone pillar. Visiting Sloup Castle requires physical fitness, as steep stairs carved into the rock must be climbed. There is a paid car park at the castle; a bus stop is 400 m away.

Culture

Passageways were carved into the sandstone at the Lesní divadlo. Glasses and telescopes were manufactured in the Samuelova jeskyně.

Nature

The Sloupský vyhlídkový okruh is approximately 4 km long, marked with information boards and equipped with benches. It passes the Emanuela-Maxa viewpoint, the Count's Viewpoint, the Castle Viewpoint and the Maximilian Viewpoint.

The Cikánské údolí s jeskyněmi circular trail was opened in 2005 and starts on Pod Stráží Street. The route follows a footpath along the Dobranovský potok, crosses several footbridges, enters the Cikánské údolí and offers unusual views of Sloup Castle.

Recreation

The Naučná a interaktivní stezka ve Sloupu v Čechách is 2 km long and has five stations. It is aimed primarily at parents with small children. It includes the wooden pavilion “Vodní chrám” with a renovated forest spring, which serves visitors as a place to rest and relax. The outdoor swimming pool is located on the shore of the Radvanecký rybník.

Geographical location

Na Stráži refers to a 354 m-high rocky spur that drops steeply into the valley of the Dobranovský potok and lies approximately 0.5 km south of Sloup.
