Bílý Potok: Hotels and accommodations

Nature

The Jizerskohorské bučiny National Nature Reserve also includes the cadastral area of Bílý Potok pod Smrkem. It protects a mixed forest complex consisting predominantly of beech trees, with geomorphologically significant formations as well as preserved natural or near-natural plant and animal communities.

Trails

The HUP-HOP trail in Bílý Potok is 500 metres long, free of charge and open to the general public. It features eleven pieces of equipment for stretching and strength exercises, as well as additional facilities. The trail connects the Jizerky recreational centre with the Hubertka tourist lodge located in the forest and can be combined with a walk to the nearby Kočičí kameny rock viewpoint.

The Hubertka lodge is located in the beech forests of the Jizera Mountains at a crossroads of hiking trails east of Lázně Libverda and north of Bílý Potok, on the slopes of Smrk (1,124 m). Because of its proximity to Singltrek pod Smrkem, it is frequently visited by cyclists. In winter, the lodge is mainly visited by cross-country skiers.

Culture

The Jizerskohorské technické muzeum is located in the former waste-spinning mill of Karl Bienert Jr. in Bílý Potok. The factory complex is exceptionally well preserved and includes numerous authentic structures and installations from the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Bílý Potok was built from 1888 to 1890 and consecrated on 28 September 1890. It is designed in the Pseudo-Romanesque style, has two stained-glass windows and has been listed in the Czech register of cultural monuments since 21 December 1998.

Keramika Strunovi operates a studio, a small exhibition hall, a garden gallery and a shop under one roof in Bílý Potok.

History

The Raspenava–Bílý Potok railway line began public operation on 3 May 1900 and originally had five stations, all of which are still preserved today. Bílý Potok pod Smrkem railway station was built from 1899 to 1900; its main building and two-track locomotive shed are now preserved in almost their original condition. The station is now located in the cadastral area of Hejnice.
