Svijanský Újezd: Hotels and Accommodation

Svijanský Újezd combines local cultural history with notable sites in the surrounding area and further afield. A special connection to music history leads to Václav Jaromír Picek, who was born in Svijanský Újezd: more than 200 of his poems were set to music.

Culture and History

An illustrative historical detail is Farmstead No. 32, today No. 1. It has a log room and a wooden-clad gallery with six artistically carved posts. In the oldest part of the village, Chaloupky, there are residential buildings from the 17th century; Chaloupky is considered the oldest part of Svijanský Újezd.

The Volunteer Fire Brigade is also part of the area’s history and community life. It dates back to 1889, actively participates in representing the municipality, and helps organize cultural and social events. In the centre of Svijanský Újezd, there is also a small church from 1868 in the Neo-Gothic style.

The municipality of Svijanský Újezd wanted to continue the tradition of the Svijany Beer Festival and organize new “Újezdské slavnosti” on a smaller, more modest scale.

Cycling Path and Koupaliště

The CT 3048 cycling route passes through Svijanský Újezd and runs between Kobyly and Svijany. Koupaliště Svijanský Újezd has changing rooms, toilets, and refreshments, as well as separate areas for swimmers and non-swimmers.
