Dlouhý Most: Hotels and Accommodations

Dlouhý Most originated along an old country road that connected Bohemia with Lusatia. The settlement stretches along the former Imperial Road between Liberec and Prague.

History and Culture

The Church of St. Lawrence was built in 1699 on the site of an earlier wooden church. To commemorate the events of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, a monument was unveiled in Dlouhý Most on July 16, 1905.

Geographical Setting

The northeastern side of Dlouhý Most is bordered by wooded hilly terrain, whose highest hill is Císařský kámen. Císařská alej is a two-kilometer-long tree-lined avenue along the old road between Vesec and Dlouhý Most. The northern part of the avenue was used in 1952 to film a scene for the fairy-tale film “Pyšná princezna”.

The R35 expressway runs through the area of Dlouhý Most. A road from Dlouhý Most leads toward Jeřmanice railway station on the Liberec–Pardubice railway line.

Leisure and Winter

The original Obří sud in Javorník was built in 1899 as a former exhibit from the Jubilee Exhibition in Vienna. The Obří sud in Javorník is an indirect replica of the original restaurant from the interwar period. The Obří sud complex was ceremonially opened in 2011. The Všesportovní areál Obří sud Javorník includes a restaurant shaped like a modernly designed giant barrel; the Všesportovní areál also has ski slopes and a four-seat chairlift.
