Hlavice: Hotels and Accommodation

Hlavice is home to a Baroque pilgrimage complex. It comprises the Church of St. Linhart, a rectory, a granary, and a statue of St. Linhart. The present large Church of St. Linhart was built between 1748 and 1759 at the highest point in Hlavice. Processions following the animal epidemic of 1747 laid the foundation for pilgrimages to Hlavice.

Culture

Near the Church of St. Linhart in Hlavice stands a Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk. The pilgrimage site of Kristiánka in Lesnovek includes a statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus dating from 1845. Until the 1920s, processions took place to this pilgrimage site every year; today, no pilgrims visit it anymore. The pilgrimage tradition in Hlavice continues with a large pilgrimage at the end of August.

In the vicinity of Hlavice is Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice, a church. In the wider regional area around Hlavice are Starý Berštejn, a ruin, and Valdštejn, a church.

Landscape

Hlavice is bordered to the southeast and west by the deep, picturesque valleys of the Malá Mohelka and Zábrdka rivers. The central part of the area consists of forest-free high plateaus with meadows and fields crossed by smaller valleys.

The mountains Ještěd, Velká Buková, Malá Buková, and Lysá are located in the vicinity of Hlavice. From Hlavice, there are extensive views of the Ještěd Ridge, Český ráj, and Bezděz.

The Kristiánka spring near Lesnovek has now completely dried up; its water is fed into a borehole for the regional water supply. In the past, the water of the Kristiánka spring in Lesnovek was considered to have healing properties.

Routes

A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Hlavice between Hrubý Lesnov and Vrtky on the Liberec–Čertova zeď–Mnichovo Hradiště route. Cycle route T 3048 passes through Hlavice between Vrtky and Cetenov and continues towards Na Pince, connecting to route T 25.
