Letařovice is home to the pilgrimage Church of St. James the Greater. Its coffered ceiling contains 60 scenes from the life of its patron saint. Next to the church is the late Baroque ossuary, the only ossuary in the Liberec Region, whose interior was inspired by the ossuary in Sedlec.
Culture
The traditional St. James pilgrimage takes place on the last Sunday in July. The local pilgrimage tradition was revived in 1990 after an interruption lasting several decades. The “Pouť mezi dvěma Jány” festival has been held in Letařovice since 2011; for 6 June 2026, the town of Český Dub scheduled it in Letařovice from 10:00 to 17:00. During the “Pouť mezi dvěma Jány”, the procession leads to four altars along forest paths around Letařovice. On the village green, stalls offer visitors gingerbread and baskets for sale.
Routes
The pilgrimage route from Kryštofovo Údolí to Letařovice is approximately 23.5 km long. From Český Dub, you can reach Letařovice on a blue-marked trail in about 40 minutes on foot.
