Záskalí lies entirely within the Ještěd Nature Park. The surrounding area includes the mountains of Maršovicky vrch, Ještěd, Černá Studnice and Rozsocha.

Nature and Trails

The “Through Ještěd Nature Park” excursion leads from Hodkovice nad Mohelkou via Žďárek, the Javornická Chapel, Javorník and Záskalí back to Hodkovice nad Mohelkou. It follows forest paths and reveals a lesser-known side of Ještěd Nature Park. The Javornická Chapel offers views of Liberec and the Jizera Mountains.

Cycling Connection

Cycle Route 3044 connects Liberec, Dlouhý Most, Jeřmanice, Záskalí and Hodkovice nad Mohelkou.

Culture and Local Character

The Valdštejn Church is located in the vicinity of Záskalí. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity is located in the wider regional area around Záskalí.

Over the course of the existence of the association of people born in or connected with Hodkovice and its friends, all three chapels in Záskalí were renovated. The chapel with the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is located in Záskalí. The Chapel of Saint Anne is also located in Záskalí, north of Hodkovice on the road to Liberec. The farmhouse at house no. 11 is located in Záskalí–Buršín.
