Valterice: Hotels and Accommodation
Valteřice combines a documented history with specific waterside offerings and a cycling route through the surrounding region. The town is first mentioned in 1492 in a document concerning the division of the Valdštejn estate; under this agreement, Valteřice was assigned to the Štěpanice estate district.
Culture and History
The history of Valteřice also includes the town’s religious character: historically, there were always more Protestants than Catholics there. The local Protestants belonged predominantly to the Augsburg Confession and, in smaller numbers, to the Helvetic Confession. Teaching continued at the Protestant school in Valteřice until 1910.
In Hornà Branná, the Hornà Branná Chateau houses the permanent historical and ethnographic exhibition “Life Below the Mountains”. It covers the municipalities of Hornà Branná and Valteřice.
Landscape and Swimming Pool
The Sovinka stream flows through Hornà Branná and Valteřice. The Valteřice swimming pool is located on the peaceful outskirts of Valteřice near a forest along the Sovinec sports and walking trail. The water in the Valteřice swimming pool is clean and comes from mountain streams.
The grounds include a beach volleyball court, which was reconstructed in 2016. Table tennis paddles and badminton equipment can also be rented there.
