Levínská Olešnice: Hotels and Accommodation

Levínská Olešnice lies in a long valley on both sides of the Oleška stream. To the north, the valley is bounded by the hills of Hradiště and Zakopanice, and to the south by the Staropacké hory mountains.

Culture and History

The Church of All Saints has been mentioned since the 14th century and was enlarged in 1833. It includes an ensemble of twelve statues, a statue of the Holy Trinity, and a cross.

In the southwestern part of Levínská Olešnice are the remains of a fortified site east of the railway bridge over the road to Levín. Hrad Levín stood on a wooded rocky spur of the Staropacké hory ridge. It is believed that Hrad Levín was founded around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and may have been established by a member of the Načeratic family.

The sculptures in Levínská Olešnice are among the municipality's cultural monuments. The sandstone group of the Holy Trinity was created by Josef Kuhn in 1890 and has a richly detailed Neo-style pedestal. The group bears a carved inscription from 1896 and stands in the center of Levínská Olešnice, on the left side of the road toward Vrchovina.

Trails and Orientation

A red-marked hiking trail leads to Hrad Levín. At the restored Hradiště Levín, there is an information board and a simple seat by a fire pit.

The excursion from Nová Paka to Levín is an easy, 13-kilometer tour focusing on geology and history.

The Levínská Olešnice railway stop is located about 200 meters from the town center. Near the railway stop, there is a signpost for tourist trail markings, from which you can reach the nearby Hrad Levín or the Oleška valley.
