Mřičná is located in the picturesque foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains in the valley of the Olšina stream. The stream flows through the village and joins the Jizera in Peřimov.

Nature

The educational trails in Mřičná are accessible on foot, by bicycle and with a stroller. They are equipped with benches, play elements, and educational and discovery quizzes.

The red educational trail offers views of Mřičná and the Krkonoše Mountains from the upper edge of the village. At the same time, it presents the history of the municipality, important events, buildings, notable personalities, clubs and sights of the Krkonoše Mountains. The yellow educational trail leads behind the swimming pool towards Strážník and provides information about domestic and wild animals, insects, birds, fish and amphibians.

The green educational trail leads towards Delišov and Strážník and focuses on plants, fruits, herbs, trees, crops and minerals. The blue educational trail runs through the forest towards the airfield and provides information about natural phenomena and natural features. The green-and-yellow circular trail leads to the Večerníček swing and offers views of the Krkonoše Mountains.

History

The Church of Saint Catherine in Mřičná was built in 1716; its tower was completed in 1787 with a decorated cupola and lantern. The tower houses a bell cast in 1484 for the church in Mřičná. A concert is held in the church every autumn.

A statue of Saint Wenceslas stands in the center of Mřičná; it was consecrated in 1909. Jan Buchar, who was born in Mřičná, became known as a recognized expert on the Krkonoše Mountains and was a committed promoter of tourism and skiing in the Krkonoše Mountains. The 14th-century Smiřično fortification site in Mřičná is an archaeological site.

Activities

The swimming pool complex in Mřičná includes a freely accessible multi-purpose sports field. The complex has fitness equipment, a workout area, a climbing structure for children and air trampolines.

Food and drink

Hospoda Buranka is open on weekends and offers simple but honest home cooking, chilled Plzeň and Radegast beer, and homemade lemonades.
