Malenovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Malenovice is a starting point for the ascent of Lysá hora. At 1,323 m, the mountain is the highest peak in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids and the Těšínsko region, and it lies within the cadastral territory of the municipality of Malenovice.

Mountains and Nature

The Lysá hora educational trail, with 15 stops, runs through the mountain area. The information covers municipalities, accidents in the mountains, caves, predators, Wallachians, woodcutters and mountain forests. In the Malenovický kotel Nature Reserve, the protected area includes the valley of the Satina stream and the adjacent western and northern slopes of Lysá hora and Malchor.

Water and Rocks

The section of the Satina waterfalls that is particularly attractive to visitors is about 1 km long. In places, it takes the form of a gorge about 15 m deep with several waterfalls.

Ondrášovy díry form a 250 m-long system of fissure passages and domes reaching depths of up to 30 m. Ondrášovy díry are inaccessible because of the danger of falling rocks and rock debris.

Culture and History

Ondrášova skála is a large sandstone block associated with the local tradition that Ondráš was elected leader of his followers there. The rock lies along a yellow-marked hiking trail from Malenovice to Lysá hora.

Ivančena is a traditional pilgrimage and meeting place for scouts from all over the Czech Republic. The pilgrimages continue to this day: on the Saturday around 24 April, scouts from all over the Czech Republic gather there, followed by tramps on Sunday.

Winter and Cycling

The Ski Malenovice “Na Staškově” ski and tourist area is located at the foot of Lysá hora in Malenovice. It has a large anchor tow lift, a platter lift and a children’s rope tow. These facilities are suitable for teaching children and beginners to ski and snowboard.

The Frýdlant n. O.–Malenovice tour is suitable for families with children, e-bikes and bicycles with trailers.

Practical Information

The paid Na Konečné car park costs CZK 70 for a full day and is a starting point for trips to Lysá hora or the Satina waterfalls.
