Culture

The Church of St. Joseph in Janovice features Neo-Gothic forms. The town’s history is also reflected in notable sites: the Hradisko open-air amphitheater stands on the site of a former medieval fortification. The former Ondráš inn stands on the site where the legendary robber Ondráš was born.

The Ondráš z Janovic folklore ensemble is part of the town’s cultural life, with a repertoire comprising dances and songs from the Lašsko region. The main program of the Ondrášovské slavnosti is traditionally preceded by a procession of participants in traditional costumes from the Ondráš statue in the town center.
