Trails and Nature

Doubrava can be explored particularly well via the Doubravská educational trail. The trail consists of two circular routes, one red and one blue. At every station along the trail, information boards provide maps, descriptions and depictions of sights. The blue route leads to Doubravský kopec, where there is a covered resting place and a panoramic map. In good visibility, the lookout point on Doubravský kopec offers views of almost the entire Beskids. Signage connects the two circular routes with maps, descriptions and depictions of sights. This makes it possible to view the route, resting place and lookout point as different elements of the educational trail.

The Kozinec Lake is also part of the natural landscape and is the largest body of water in Doubrava. It was formed as a result of land subsidence caused by coal mining. At the same time, the lake is an important breeding ground for birds and a refuge for protected animal and plant species. The combination of mining history and protected habitat shapes the description of the body of water on two levels. Trails, viewpoints and the body of water therefore stand alongside one another as distinct topics.

Culture and History

St. Hedwig's Church displays a relic of Saint Hedwig for public veneration.

The Husův sbor was built in Doubrava in 1928 by the architect and builder Čeněk Volný. It was declared a cultural monument by a decision of the Ministry of Culture dated 15 November 2001. Its excellent acoustics are used for concerts. The year of construction, heritage protection and use for concerts thus represent three clearly distinguishable aspects of this building.

Doubravská dřevěnka is a rare surviving building of folk architecture in the Ostrava-Karviná hard-coal mining district. Among long-established residents, the building is considered to have been Doubrava's first school. Its rare preservation and the traditional school history belong to the same architectural sight.

The Národní dům is an important cultural center in Doubrava. Numerous social and cultural events take place there. Its profile is defined both by its function as a cultural center and by the events held there.

At the Důl Doubrava mine, the main shaft later became the deepest in the Karviná mining district. The lowest, tenth level was located at a depth of more than 1,000 meters.

Anyone planning an overnight stay in Doubrava can sort hotel offers by travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions. These details form a separate decision-making level alongside the educational trail, lake, cultural monument and DinoPark. This keeps the accommodation conditions clearly separate from the specific places and the information associated with each of them, making budget-conscious planning easier.

Visitor Information

The visitor address for DinoPark Ostrava is U DinoParku 1, 735 33 Doubrava. Across 35 hectares, dozens of life-size static and moving dinosaur figures are displayed. The address, area, figures and transport option provide different types of information for personal planning. Visitors can ride the DinoExpress.
