Orlová: Hotels and accommodations

The two-towered Neo-Gothic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is Orlová’s most important architectural and cultural monument. It replaced the earlier building dating from 1466 in 1905.

Culture and history

Zámecký park was established in 1765 as part of Orlovský zámek. Since 1965, it has been listed as a protected cultural monument in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic and serves as a place for recreation and learning.

The Zapomenutá Orlová educational trail runs through the historic part of Orlová. Twelve information panels commemorate places or objects that were so severely affected by coal mining that they had to be demolished. The Zapomenutá Orlová circular route is approximately six kilometres long and takes about two hours on comfortable terrain.

In the vicinity of Orlová lies Kończyce Małe - Zamek XV w., a castle. In the wider regional surroundings of Orlová are the castles Wodzisław Śląski - Ruiny Baszty, Rzuchow - Zameczek and Czernica - Dworek.

Nature and landscape

Vinná hora and Gora Chełm are mountains in the wider regional surroundings of Orlová. Lazy [Orlová-Lazy] is a hill in the immediate vicinity of Orlová, while Něbrojův kopec [Dětmarovice] is a hill in the surroundings of Orlová.

Culinary events

At the Goulash Festival, paying visitors could vote for the best competition goulash. Food and drink stalls were open all day.

The Festival jídla a kávy featured a cooking demonstration by Michal Buček with Hell’s Chilli Fajitas, as well as a children’s accompanying programme with mascots, attractions and an entertainment zone.
