Hlavnice: Hotels and accommodations

Hlavnice is located in the Nízký Jeseník landscape area and the Opavsko field landscape type. Cycle route 6159 runs through the village and connects to the Opava–Jakartovice cycle path. The village is particularly characterized by the Church of the Holy Trinity, Hlavnice Château, the Chapel of Saint Florian, and the grounds of the old mill.

Culture and History

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Hlavnice was built between 1773 and 1776 on the site of a demolished wooden church. Its interior contains figurative biblical scenes by Kramolín, as well as a rare Rococo altar and a Baroque altar.

Hlavnice Château was built in 1792 in the Empire style. Three buildings in the original style have been preserved in its courtyard: a stable, a coach house, and the former food store. The history of the resistance movement is also connected with the village: Obrana Slezska was founded in Hlavnice in November 1938 and was the first resistance organization in the Opava region.

For museum purposes, the miller's dwelling was set up on the grounds of the old mill. The grounds also include two two-storey granaries dating from 1856 and a third granary relocated from Loděnice.

On Hůrka stands the stone-built Chapel of Saint Florian, covered with slate; it was reconsecrated in 1993.

Landscape and Surroundings

The mountains of Ovčák and Přílet are located in the vicinity of Hlavnice. In the wider regional surroundings, there are also Mount Vinice and Mount Kozinec. The ruins of Vildštejn and Cvilin are likewise located in this wider regional area.
