Vítkov: Hotels and Accommodation

Vítkov is home to the parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a Neo-Gothic church built between 1910 and 1914 that is also known as the “Vítkov Cathedral”.

Culture

The cemetery Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Vítkov dates back to 1625.

The Vítkov Town Museum has no permanent exhibition. Occasional exhibitions are held in a newly renovated exhibition hall on the first floor of the cultural centre; the hall is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

At present, midnight masses and concerts of classical and sacred music are held in the parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary during the Christmas holidays. The church was built from local stone. According to local oral tradition, a spring emerged when the foundations were being excavated, and it is still active today.

Trails and Activities

The Dědictví břidlice educational trail through Zálužné is approximately 7 km long and includes 16 stops with a total of 22 information panels and 3 rest areas.

Adventure Golf Vítkov offers children and adults 18 themed holes.

The information centre in Vítkov is certified as a facility in the Cyklisté vítáni system. The Okolo Moravice cycling route runs through the picturesque valley of the Moravice River in the Moravice Nature Park.

Surroundings

The Vítkovský Balaton, an artificial reservoir on the Kamenský potok stream, is located near Vítkov, approximately 2 km beyond Vítkov on the road to Kamenka.

Fishing is possible at Vítkovský Balaton, and mushrooms can be collected in the surrounding forests.
