Kravaře: Hotels and accommodation

A prominent feature of Kravaře is Zámek Kravaře: the two-storey Baroque building has four wings, a rectangular courtyard and an octagonal chapel with a high dome.

Chateau and religious buildings

The permanent exhibition at the Zámecké muzeum takes visitors through the various stages in the development of Kravaře’s Baroque chateau. The Kostel sv. Bartoloměje church also preserves remarkable historical details: it has a white Renaissance tower from the first third of the 16th century, whose interior contains a stone baptismal font from the same period as the tower.

The Zámecká kaple is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. It was built in the Baroque style and is crowned by a very high dome supported by pillars.

Park and landscape

The chateau park was created by the Eichendorff family in the second half of the 18th century. It covers 21 hectares and is home to almost 100 varieties of deciduous and coniferous trees, as well as streams, ponds and romantic corners of the park.

Near Kravaře lies the Odkryv National Nature Reserve in a former open-pit mine; it covers 1.6 hectares. The Přílet and Vinná hora mountains are also located in the vicinity of Kravaře. The nearby area includes the hills Oldřišovský kopec [Kravaře ve Slezsku] and Hadí kopec [Chlebičov]. In the wider regional area are Rzuchow - Zameczek, a castle, and Cvilin, a ruin.

Leisure and activities

Městský aquapark Kravaře offers a lazy river and a 65-metre-long water slide. The facilities also include a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna and a whirlpool.

Zámecký golf club Kravaře has a nine-hole golf course set among mature trees in the chateau park. The club offers the public golf lessons, a pro shop, golf club hire and golf course rental; closed tournaments are also held.

The children’s educational trail Putování s veverkou Adélkou was offered in the chateau park as a route featuring adventure and search tasks.

Tradition

Kravařský odpust is a more than 100-year-old tradition involving the patronal festival of the local parish church of St Bartholomew. The festival always takes place around the Sunday closest to 24 August.
