Václavovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Václavovice showcases its landscape particularly at Pískovna: the area consists of an old sand-mining site with ponds that formed after the sand was extracted. The Pískovna is protected for the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus). A hiking trail through Václavovice passes the protected Pískovna; it is part of the Natura 2000 network, and fire-bellied toads occur there.

Nature and Landscape

The Ryninka spring on the border between Václavovice and Sedliště is considered a place for walks and relaxation. The Kamenec pond is also considered a place for walks and relaxation; beavers have settled there.

Walking Trails

The regional brochure describes the “Vpravo, vlevo, po potoce” circular trail in Václavovice as an easy hiking route measuring 3.8 km. The circular trail starts at the building of the primary school and kindergarten in Václavovice.

Culture and Townscape

The chapel at house number 11 is the only immovable cultural monument in Václavovice. The Church of St. Wenceslas on Václavovická Street is an architectural landmark of Václavovice. Local cultural monuments also include a wooden bell tower, while several original wooden houses have been preserved.

There are four operational windmills in Václavovice, which are among the notable local sights. The chapel on Potoční Street is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk and dates from 1805. It commemorates the march of the Russian army towards Slavkov for the Battle of the Three Emperors in 1805.

The Chapel of Lost Heritage is a modern work of art by the Šenov artist Oldřich Harok on the hiking route through Václavovice.

Cycling Route

Local cycling route 6063 leads from Petřvald via Šenov, Šimška and Sedliště and runs through Václavovice along local roads and designated-purpose routes.
