Čavisov is located in the forested Vítkovská vrchovina, which is part of Nízký Jeseník, and belongs to the Porubka Valley recreational area. Tram line 5 connects Čavisov with Ostrava.

Vinná hora and Přílet mountains are located in the vicinity of Čavisov. The nearby area also includes Dubské Hill [Kyjovice ve Slezsku] and Podklan Hill [Ostrava - Zbyslavice].

Cycling and Hiking Routes

Cycling Route No. 6140 leads from Kyjovice through the built-up part of Čavisov, turns off at the municipal office and runs along Road III/46610 towards Mezihoří. Route 6199 runs through the northeastern part of the Čavisov area, coming from the direction of Dolní Lhota and continuing towards Vřesina. The marked blue hiking route No. 2273 also runs through the Čavisov area.

Sports

The Čavisovská stovka starts and finishes at the TJ Sokol sports field in Čavisov.

Events and Culture

Čavisov's historic chapel is the Chapel of St. Martin.

On September 5, 2026, Myslivecké odpoledne will take place at Stavy Pond, locally known as “na Hrázce”. The event includes competitions for children and adults, a prize wheel, air rifle shooting and a virtual hunting shooting range; throughout the day, game specialities and refreshments will also be available at Stavy Pond during Myslivecké odpoledne.
