Žerotín: Hotels and Accommodation

The Žerotínský Chateau was built in 1751 and served as a summer residence for the Augustinian monastery in Šternberk. The Žerotínský Chateau is currently not open to the public.

Culture

The Chapel of St. Martha was built in 1882 on the site of an earlier wooden bell tower and is located in the centre of Žerotín. In the wider surrounding region of Žerotín lies the Church of Our Lady of the Snows. Also in the wider surrounding region is the Church of St. Michael. Čechovy sady, a park, is likewise located in the wider surrounding region of Žerotín. The park also contains a pavilion carved from oak wood for four people, colloquially known as “Koráb”.

Skalice, a mountain, lies in the vicinity of Žerotín. In the immediate vicinity of Žerotín are V Lavičkách [Pňovice], a hill, and (Lány) [Štěpánov u Olomouce], a hill. In the wider surrounding region of Žerotín lie Hrad Brníčko, a castle, and Kamenná, a mountain.

Water and Events

Žerotín’s multi-purpose water facility can be used for swimming during the summer months; swimming is at your own risk. For the 2025 season, the grounds of the multi-purpose water facility were open from 1 July to 31 August during operating hours, depending on the current weather conditions.

The Žerotínské Hody sv. Marty were held as traditional celebrations in July in honour of Saint Martha, the patron saint of the local chapel. The Saturday programme included the traditional tournament “O PUTOVNÍ ŽEROTÍNSKOU KLOBÁSU”, which has been organised for more than a quarter of a century by the footballers of the local small-sided team. The Sunday programme traditionally culminated in a mass in front of the local chapel.
