Lipina: Hotels and Accommodation

Lipina lies in the central, hilly part of the Nízký Jeseník. Around 44 % of the municipality’s area lies within the Sovinecko Nature Park. The nature park was established to protect the character of the landscape and forest complexes with a tree composition close to the original vegetation.

Landscape

In 2018, two tourist seating areas were built in Lipina: one by a pond and one on the path to Oldřichovský kopec. From there, there is a beautiful view of Haná. A statue of Jesus Christ behind Lipina near the old Ecce Homo road is an object of above-average aesthetic and structural value.

Routes and Trails

The ECCE HOMO ŠTERNBERK route is 7,800 m long and has an elevation difference of 307 m. The racecourse for the Ecce Homo hill climbs also passes through the municipality of Lipina.

For cycling trips, the “Living Water” route runs from the square in Šternberk via Dolní Žleb, Horní Žleb, Dalov, Horní Loděnice, Těšíkov and Lipina back to the square in Šternberk. It is 36 km long and passes through rolling terrain with a greater elevation difference.

The Zelená stezka nature trail runs from Šternberk via Lipina and Těšíkov to the Těšíkovská kyselka mineral water spring. The connection to Těšíkovská kyselka includes the Lipina, rozc. and Lipina, Stachov stops.

History and Buildings

The earliest documented record of the existence of the municipality of Lipina dates from 1296. The present-day brick chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary replaced a wooden chapel in 1838 and was completely reconstructed inside and out in 2013.

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary stands in the center of Lipina, about 50 m from the road when driving from Šternberk, at the turnoff for the road to Těšíkov. The Ecce Homo statue was professionally restored and cleaned.
