Culture and history
The memorial was unveiled on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the burning of Český Malín in Volhynia. It has recently been restored and supplemented on its western side with three granite plaques bearing the names of 372 victims.
The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque church built between 1724 and 1811. It retains a tower from the 16th century and has been a protected monument of the Czech Republic since 1958.
In the vicinity of Nový Malín are Hrad Brníčko, a castle, and Nový Hrad, a ruin. A platform and defensive ramparts remain from the now-vanished Burgstein castle complex.
