Ústín: Hotels and accommodations
Ústín combines an early documented local history with specific buildings and a location on cycle route 6025 between Olomouc and Bouzov. The village was first mentioned in writing approximately between 1173 and 1185.
History, buildings and local life
In the second half of the 14th century, Hradisko Premonstratensian Monastery acquired the entire village of Ústín. The village is home to a monument created by the academic sculptor J. Pelikán for the victims of the First and Second World Wars. The Chapel of St. Florian dates from the mid-18th century.
The stone bridge over the Stouska stream is designated a cultural monument in Ústín. It has a single semicircular arch opening and a fully masonry-built parapet. The Komunitní centrum Haná serves as Ústín’s cultural and community center.
Between Topolany and Ústín, the Boží muka wayside shrine was relocated two meters from the road edge onto municipal land belonging to Ústín. Another named local landmark is the Hostinec Pod Žudrem in Ústín: following its reconstruction in 1992–1993, the inn was given this name. The name refers to a loggia with semicircular arches reminiscent of the typical Haná architectural form known as the Žudr.
Cycle paths and landscape
Developed cycle paths lead from Ústín westward toward Těšetice and eastward to the cadastral boundary of Olomouc-Topolany. Thus, the village’s geographical setting is also described through its designated cycle paths and the connection between Olomouc and Bouzov.
