Krčmaň: Hotels and Accommodations

Krčmaň combines natural monuments, historic religious buildings, and places of remembrance.

Nature

The U Strejčkova lomu Nature Monument protects the habitat of the large-flowered pasque flower (Pulsatilla grandis), which is significant throughout Europe, as well as other xerothermic and subxerothermic grass and herb communities. From Grygov railway station, the site can be reached via a green-marked trail along a field path in the direction of Krčmaň.

Another nature monument, Cigánské zmoly, lies in the cadastral area of Krčmaň. The U Bílých hlin site is located nearby on a gently sloping, southeast-facing hillside.

The elevations in the immediate vicinity include Hůry [Krčmaň] and Chrast [Krčmaň], both of which are classified as hills. The wider regional area also includes Růžový Kopec and Skalice, both classified as mountains.

History and Remembrance

The history of the Church of St. Florian dates back to a wooden chapel built in 1708 and dedicated to Saint Florian. A new solidly built chapel was erected on the site of the former chapel, which had burned down, in 1744; it underwent extensive repairs in 1851.

Borek also commemorates the history of the village: after returning from the First World War, men from Krčmaň planted it in memory of the difficult times at the front and to commemorate those who had fallen and did not return.

The churches of St. Michael and Our Lady of the Snows are located in the vicinity of Krčmaň. The wider regional area also contains the Monument to the Victims of the First World War and the Statue of St. John of Nepomuk.
