Věžky: Hotels and Accommodation

In the center of Věžky stands the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. The oldest surviving written record of Věžky dates from 1349.

History and Local Symbols

The area of the Roman Catholic parish of Vlkoš u Přerova comprises the municipalities of Věžky and Vlkoš. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built by the municipality in 1821.

On the outskirts of Věžky stands the Boží muka, a wayside shrine built in 1740. The Boží muka has an unusual shape and stands in a field beneath three lime trees.

Geographical Setting

The plains in the Věžky area were shaped over thousands of years by gravel deposits transported by the Bečva, Moštěnka, and Morava rivers. The cadastral territory of Věžky covers part of the area between the Přerov–Brno railway line and the Moštěnka stream.

Near Věžky is Vysoká Kopcová hill near Troubky nad Bečvou. The wider regional surroundings include Lešná Castle, Předina hill, Zadní vrch hill, the ruins of Lukov Castle, and Růžový Kopec hill. This wider regional area also contains the monuments Pomník obětem 1. světové války and Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého.

Sports and Events

The Věžky sports complex has tennis courts, volleyball courts, various climbing and play equipment, and a sandbox for children. The “Zlatá diabolka” shooting competition is held at the sports complex every year.

The combined Vlkoš–Věžky cycle and pedestrian path is designed for pedestrians and cyclists and was built in 2004. The Hodové slavnosti in Věžky were scheduled for August 14–16, 2026.
