Přerov District: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture

The permanent exhibitions of the Comenius Museum in Přerov Castle cover just under 1,200 square metres. Tovačov lies near the confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers. Tovačov Castle presents the estate's owners, its architectural development and significant historical figures.

The chateau in Hustopeče nad Bečvou offers visitors a courtyard, a lapidarium, an art gallery and museums dedicated to butchery, film and cooking stoves. Four courtyards of Helfštýn Castle are currently open to visitors. Steel footbridges allow visitors to cross all levels of the palace and reach a viewing platform overlooking the Moravian Gate valley.

Getting Around

The Hranice Abyss can be reached on foot from Teplice nad Bečvou railway station via an educational trail or from the Hranice campsite along the red tourist trail. The Bečva Cycle Path connects Hustopeče nad Bečvou, Hranice, Lipník nad Bečvou, Přerov and Tovačov. It is intended for cyclists and pedestrians, as well as skaters where the surface permits.

The Bečva Cycle Path section between Valašské Meziříčí and Přerov can be reached by train; bicycles can be carried during transport as luggage or in the storage area. A five-kilometre route in Přerov leads from the castle grounds to the banks of the Bečva and Lagunový Park; it can be completed with a pram or bicycle.

Nature

ORNIS is located near Michalov Park and the Žebračka National Nature Reserve. At the confluence of the Strhanec and Bečva rivers, visitors can observe waterfowl year-round near the centre of Přerov. A total of 139 bird species have been recorded in the Žebračka National Nature Reserve, including 79 breeding species.

Michalov Park is a cultural monument and protected landscape feature with early 20th-century garden architecture and floodplain flowers. A wooden viewing point above a small, gradually silting body of water allows visitors to observe birds, amphibians, invertebrates, aquatic flora and characteristic floodplain trees.
