Svratouch: Hotels and accommodation

Svratouch is located in a subregion of the Žďárské vrchy hills. Nature, water and local history can be found here in clearly identifiable places and sites.

Nature and water

The Chochol pond lies on the northeastern edge of Svratouch and has a sandy beach that invites visitors to swim on sunny summer days. The U Tučkovy hájenky nature monument is partly located in the cadastral area of Svratouch and includes broad valley areas with peat meadows. It protects transitional mires, nutrient-poor calcareous fens, tall sedge stands, wet marsh thistle meadows and matgrass grasslands with protected and endangered plant and animal species.

Springs and educational trail

The Filipovský pramen forest spring lies northwest of Svratouch in the Stará obora forest area. It is one of the springs of the Chrudimka River and the starting point of the Krajem Chrudimky educational trail. This educational trail is 74 km long and has 31 information boards.

Church, chapel and museum

The Evangelical church in Svratouch was built in 1783–1784 as a toleration prayer house and ceremonially opened on 20 October 1784. It was remodelled in the Art Nouveau style in 1911–1912; a cemetery from the period of toleration is located around the church. The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk in Svratouch was begun in 1933 and consecrated on 10 June 1935.

Since 2016, the building of the Evangelical school in Svratouch has housed the Museum of Historical Motorcycles. The building itself has been a listed monument since 1958.

History and surroundings

In the vicinity of Svratouch, the Karlštejn hunting lodge was built around 1770 and completed in 1776. The golf course above Svratka and Svratouch was laid out between 1945 and 1949.
