Culture and history

The historic part of Staré Hradiště, including the granary, features a preserved urban structure with a historically shaped layout, urban axes and settlement cores. The granary is located on the southeastern edge of the village and is registered as an immovable cultural monument; it was registered in 1958. Built as a Baroque granary on the foundations of the former fortress, it is visible from a great distance. Staré Hradiště also has a monument to those who fell in the First World War.

Kunětická hora is a national cultural monument located in the vicinity of Staré Hradiště. Kunětická hora is home to the Chapel of St Catherine of Alexandria, built by the Pernštejn family at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, with its original vault structure and a Baroque altarpiece. The Church of St George is located in the vicinity of Staré Hradiště.

Cycling connections

Staré Hradiště is a permanent member of the Hradubická labská association of municipalities. Its cycling route project connects Hradec Králové and Pardubice along the Elbe and opens up the Elbe lowland landscape; it is intended to create safe cycling connections between the participating municipalities. The 7.2 km-long cycling route 4123 connects Stéblová, Srch, Staré Hradiště and Pardubice. The 15.6 km-long cycling route 4124 runs from Pardubice-Cihelna via Staré Hradiště, Brozany, Ráby, Kunětická hora, Němčice and Hrobice to Opatovice nad Labem.
