South of the Darebnice settlement, Hradiště is located in Běstovice. The fortified area covers 1.7 hectares and has an approximately 2-meter-high rampart and a ditch of equal depth.

Landscape and bodies of water

Běstovice is characterized by a predominantly flat landscape. The Tichá Orlice flows through the cadastral area; Běstovice extends mainly along the right bank of the river. The Darebnice settlement lies on the left bank of the Tichá Orlice.

Culture and history

The Church of All Saints is a single-nave church of medieval origin. It stands on a high elevation above a sand pit in the middle of an enclosed, circular cemetery. At the same time, it is considered a landmark of Běstovice and was largely restored at the municipality’s expense.

The former manorial Panská sýpka granary in Běstovice was built in 1712. It is one of Běstovice’s protected immovable cultural monuments.

The burial ground in Běstovice, together with the necropolis in Koldín, is one of the easternmost necropolises in Bohemia.

Surroundings

Mount Strýc is located in the vicinity of Běstovice, as is Mount Řetová. The nearby surroundings also include Podlán Hill and Čertův dub Hill.
