Bystřec: Hotels and Accommodations
Bystřec lies in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains near Jablonné nad Orlicí. The village is situated in a deep valley of the stream of the same name, west of Buková hora and in the southern part of the Orlické Mountains.
Culture and History
A prominent landmark of Bystřec is the Church of St. James. The present-day stone church replaced a wooden church in 1828 and was consecrated on October 17, 1830. It has a bell dating from 1585 bearing the coat of arms of the Perštýn family.
The former castle moat is also connected with the history of the village. It was cleaned from 1964 to 1966. A water reservoir was created there, serving as a natural circular outdoor swimming pool with an island. The local name “Na hradě” has been preserved there to this day.
Nature and Trails
A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Bystřec. The Bystřecké kilometry program included a 15-kilometer IVV route called “Around the Village of Bystřec.” The event also featured hiking routes of 6, 15, 27, 35, 42, and 50 kilometers.
Transport and Local Events
There is a bus stop in the center of Bystřec. One travel description proposed taking the train to Jablonné nad Orlicí on railway line no. 024; from the station, the route continued on foot via the red-marked hiking trail to the square, approximately 0.5 kilometers, and then via the blue-marked trail toward Bystřec, approximately 3 kilometers.
The traditional Benátská noc took place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the outdoor swimming pool area.
