Dlouhá Loučka: Hotels and accommodations

The oldest written mention of Dlouhá Loučka dates back to 1365. The village is also the birthplace of ophthalmologist and university professor Karel Stellwag (1823–1907).

Nature and landscape

The Dlouholoučské stráně Nature Reserve lies on the northeastern edge of Dlouhá Loučka. It protects marl slopes with extensive natural and semi-natural plant communities on extensively managed meadows and in copses, as well as protected plant and animal species.

The Phengaris arion occurs in the nature reserve. The species is critically endangered; its population is showing an increasing trend and is locally common. In addition, the Rohová National Nature Reserve extends into the cadastral territory of Dlouhá Loučka.

Traces of the past

At Hradisko in Dlouhá Loučka, the remains of ditches and ramparts are still clearly visible. The grounds of Hradisko contain the remains of a medieval water castle and an outer bailey, dated to the 12th to 13th centuries. Hradisko is located in Dlouhá Loučka on a slight elevation above the confluence of two streams.
