Újezdec: Hotels and accommodations

The restored Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Újezdec dates from around 1755; its successful replica of the original Neoclassical door is particularly noteworthy.

Culture and history

The settlement of U Tří Kocourů, which belongs to Újezdec, was once located at a turnoff from the Trstenická zemská stezka. Three cat heads are attached to one of the settlement’s houses, recalling the former cat-shaped barrier posts of U Tří Kocourů.

A monument to the Bohemian Brethren was unveiled at Růžový Palouček in 1921. Růžový Palouček, near Újezdec, has been a cultural monument since 1989. An educational trail there uses 13 information panels to present the history and other interesting aspects of the site.

Village and nature

The traditional Czech village green in Újezdec is characterized by a pond and lined with the façades of farmsteads facing toward the village center. Abundant shell fossils occur in the marl layers of Újezdec.

Activities

Horse breeding in Újezdec is associated with the possibility of riding lessons and trail rides. During the summer months, Jezdecký oddíl Černík organizes residential children's riding camps and, during this period, offers family holidays with the possibility of riding lessons.
