Klášter: Hotels and Accommodations

Klášter is closely connected with the history of the Cistercian abbey of Panny Marie. It was founded in 1144 by Vladislav II and settled by monks from Ebrach in Germany.

Culture and History

Among the remains of the former abbey in Klášter, a Romanesque building with house number 39 has been preserved. A part of the former cloister with gates dating from the beginning of the 14th century adjoins the preserved abbey remains. The Neoclassical Chapel of St. Margaret dates from 1861–1862.

Water and Trails

Klášterský rybník is used primarily for fish farming and fishing. The educational trail below Zelená Hora leads from Nepomuk around Zelená Hora Castle to Klášter and back to Nepomuk. At just under 4.5 kilometres, it offers nine stops with information boards. The educational trail is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and families with children and can be used with a stroller. There is a children's area next to the football pitch in Klášter.
