Chotěšov: Hotels and Accommodation

Chotěšov Monastery is a national cultural monument and comprises a former convent rebuilt in the late Baroque style. It was founded at the beginning of the 13th century by Blessed Hroznata. The monastery is open to the public; guided tours, exhibitions and other cultural events take place there.

In 2013, the Firefighting Museum of the Pilsen Region was opened at Chotěšov Monastery. One of the most important exhibits is a restored and operational PS-6 Flader motor pump. The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is one of Chotěšov’s significant historic buildings.

A column with a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was erected in 1700 by Abbot and Provost Ondřej Fabritius. The restored statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was moved to a representative location near Chotěšov Monastery.

Staročeské máje has been held in Chotěšov since 1967 and takes place approximately every two years. On the second day, the festival continues in the monastery garden with the dances Chodské kolečko, Špacírka and, finally, Česká beseda. Běh Chotěšovem is an annual cross-country run for all age groups.

Several hiking trails in the vicinity of Chotěšov lead to Křížový vrch, with its church and 22-metre-high observation tower. From the observation tower, there are views of the peaks of the Český les, nearby Chotěšov with its monastery and the town of Stod.

The walk to the weir on the Radbuza begins at Náměstí 1. máje and follows Klášterní Street. There is either an upper route with views of the Radbuza river valley or a route along the millrace.

In the vicinity of Chotěšov, the two-kilometre Stezka kolem Křížového vrchu loop trail features educational and play elements focused on forest fauna and flora. Along the trail, several stations with information boards lead to a former pilgrimage site with a church and an observation tower.

In the vicinity of Chotěšov, Pinky comprises the ponds Velký rybník, Malý rybník and Šindlerák and is used mainly for sport fishing and recreation. The Pinky landscape acquired its present form as a result of coal mining at the Austria hard-coal mine and subsequent subsidence of rock and soil.

The Jetelový vrch hill [Chotěšov-Hoříkovice] is located in the vicinity of Chotěšov. The Slepičí vrch hill [Dnešice-Černotín] is also located nearby.
