History

The graphite boom of 1846 led to a significant expansion of mining in Mokrá. Josefova štola is a drainage adit dating from 1897.

A newly built gravel educational trail leads to the portal of Josefova štola near Mokrá, close to Černá v Pošumaví. The portal is a recently reconstructed technical monument that is considered open to visitors.

The chapel in Mokrá dates from 1849. In 1999, it was saved from complete decay and restored.

Historical depictions describe Mokrá as the most important village of the Hirzův Újezd settlement association, also called Mokerský Újezd. The historic settlement association is named after the burgrave Hirzo, who owned the area before 1263; his ownership is first mentioned in the founding charter of Zlatá Koruna Monastery.

In the wider vicinity of Mokrá, near Olšina, you will find Rybářská bašta, which features an exhibition about fishing and hunting.

Cycling

The Rybník Olšina cycling route leads from Černá along the limestone quarries of Muckov to Muckov, where it turns towards Mokrá. From Mokrá, the cycling route continues to Olšina Pond.
